Lovely place to din for a Sunday Roast, the waiting staff were extremely polite and friendly and the food was delicious. The presentation of the outdoor seating area was superb. Never fails to impress will definitely come back for more another Sunday

My wife and I chose to stay here because our daughter was playing a rugby match locally the hotel was part of the devere applause scheme so made sense.The stay and the food was good although there was a wedding the night before it had little impact on our stay.

Beautiful setting, delicious food. However, the whole experience felt rushed. Ordered a cocktail, then our dinner and a bottle of wine. Cocktail arrived, then the wine and the food shortly after, I hadn&rsquo;t finished my cocktail. Meal was lovely. No real complaint, I just wish the whole evening and set up was a big slower in pace

The 1853 restaurant and festive was a most enjoyable experience with a lovely atmosphere, excellent attentive and speedy service, delicious 3 course meal with a good choice on the menu, all enjoyed in pleasant and historic surroundings.
